DJamilatou and CompassionThis is Djamilatou Kagambega. She is a little African girl whom some of the branches support through COMPASSION, a Christian Organisation whose aim is in some way to prepare children, who otherwise have no hope to prepare for the future.
Djamilatou will be 9 years old in August 2018. She lives in Burkina Faso in Western Africa and speaks French. Burkina Faso is a very poor and deprived part of Africa where life expectancy is low, 55 years for men and 57 for women. It has suffered greatly from droughts and military coups. Djamilatou lives with her Grandmother and Uncle. She walks each Saturday to the Project which is 2 kilometres away from her home. Her favourite colour is yellow and her pet is an OX! Up until 2017, we sponsored an Indian girl, PUSPA, unfortuately COMPASSION had to withdraw from that part of India because of unrest and therefore all financial help stopped. We are sad that this has happened but hope that Puspa has benefited from the help she received. We are grateful to Sadie for continuing to keep in touch with our sponsored child. At the AGM Sadie gives an update of the child's progress. |
